There is plenty of buzz in the media about ‘Cloud Computing’ and how it will – or is, dependent on your viewpoint – transforming large-scale enterprise systems in the private sector.

But what is really exciting is the way it has the potential to be a transforming force for the public sector as well. Even more so in APEC economies, where, apart from the obvious cost and space-saving benefits applicable to both the private and public sector, governments have additional demands in that their IT systems are increasingly part of the memory and cultural history of the nation.
